Dissemination workshop in Nairobi
On 22 July, we are organising a dissemination workshop in Nairobi, Kenya, hosted by the African Migration and Development Policy Centre (AMADPOC).
The workshop will bring together DYNAMIG team members, policymakers and other experts to discuss our findings on migration dynamics from an African perspective and explore ways to strengthen migration governance in Kenya, Nigeria and Morocco, and at the African Union level. We will zoom in on:
- Migrant decision-making processes and factors influencing mobility choices of migrants from Kenya, Nigeria and Morocco and those in Europe
- How potential migrants weigh key factors, such as income, type of work permit and migration risk, when evaluating their migration options
- Strategies, challenges and experiences of migrants throughout their journeys to Europe and the Middle East
- Infrastructure, information and networks in migration processes
- How policymakers’ perceptions across countries influence migration policies
- How DYNAMIG evidence can inform existing labour migration policies from source countries, as well as regional and continental programmes
About our DYNAMIG workshops
The workshops we organise in Nigeria, Kenya, Morocco and Brussels all take place in a small setting, allowing for frank and open discussion between participants. They are of key importance to ensure that our work takes into account – and builds on – the knowledge and priorities of policymakers and migration experts, increasing its quality, usefulness, relevance and impact.
This workshop is invitation only and will take place under Chatham House rules.
